Hackney - a second look - Spring Hill, Upper Clapton

Spring Hill, Upper Clapton, where it meets the River Lea. The further side of the river is the site of the present Walthamstow Reservoir. The Lombardy poplar on the right and the lime tree on the left are still there; taken from the bottom of Sprin Hill looking east. Date 1886 in the summer.
